Introduction:
White needle-shaped crystals. Melting point 240-241℃. Easily soluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons, soluble in alcohol , slightly soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, and insoluble in water. The molecule of this product contains two hydroxyl groups and a sulfone group with strong electron withdrawal, so the acidity is stronger than other phenols.
Uses:
4,4'-Dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone is mainly used as a color fixing agent. In addition, it can be used as a plating solution additive, leather tanning agent, disperse dye high temperature dyeing dispersant, phenolic resin hardening accelerator, resin flame retardant, etc. It is also an intermediate for pesticides, dyes, and additives. As a substitute for bisphenol A, it can be used as a raw material for polycarbonate, epoxy resin, polyester, phenolic resin, and a raw material for polysulfone and polyether sulfone. This product is also used to manufacture color photographic materials, photographic contrast enhancers, thermal recording materials (developers), daily surfactants and high-efficiency deodorants, etc. Bisphenol S can be used as a raw material to prepare color fixing agent A (the foreign trade name is CibatexPA).
