Introduction:
Chloroacetamide (2-chloroacetamide, CAS No. 79-07-2) is a white needle-shaped crystal or crystal with a pungent odor. It is soluble in water and ethanol and slightly soluble in ethe. Its physical properties include a melting point of 116-121°C and a boiling point of 225-256°C (decomposition). It is commonly used in the industrial field.
Uses:
Agriculture: As a herbicide, it interferes with plant growth by inhibiting very long chain fatty acid elongase and is used for weed control in dryland and paddy fields.
Medicine: An intermediate for synthetic drugs (such as long-acting sulfonamide B and phentolamine), and a raw material for buffer ADA.
Chemicals: An important intermediate for the production of organic compounds such as chloroacetonitrile and sulfamethylpyrazine, used in pesticides, dyes and other fields.
